It’s YOUR House. Make It So.

It’s YOUR House. Make It So.

When we’re designing your house, please keep the following in mind, always!

Don’t Worry About:

  • What’s in your neighbor’s house.
  • What’s in a model home down the street.
  • What your mom said you should do.
  • What your cousin said you should do.
  • What your bff said you should do.
  • What the latest design trends are.

I want you to do what YOU want to do. No one else is paying for the mortgage, taxes, or furniture. No one else lives there. So, who cares what they have to say?

When the design is finished, they’re going to say, “Oh my god, this is amazing! I love your house. I could never do this, but I love your house.” Believe it or not, that’s actually a really good compliment. It means you’ve done something bold that is your own, that makes you happy, and that shows who you are. And no, maybe someone else couldn’t do it – and they shouldn’t! Because that’s not who they are.

When you’re decorating, designing, and living in your own house, it shouldn’t matter that grey and white is the popular right now. I don’t just live in a sea of grey and white and most of my clients don’t either! That’s not what they like.

Here are three examples of completely different designs for completely different clients. All eclectic, all unique!

House Number One

The first client is a mid-century modern client. She loves chartreuse, teal, and orange.

House Number Two

The second client is more traditional. They love all kinds of different colors and have amazing English chesterfields. They’re big fans of vintage rugs and have tons of beautiful artwork.

House Number Three

My third client adores color and wanted a bright, colorful kitchen. Her teal cabinets and fantastic glass tile fit the bill perfectly!

Each of these houses are different, but each reflects what my clients really love. Each house looks great because each has a cohesive overall feel. Are any of these designs reflective of the most popular, trendy thing right now? No! But does it matter? Also no!

I really want to encourage you to do what you love because in the end, all that matters is that you are happy in your own home.
